This interview experience for a Software Engineering Intern role at PlaySimple Games involved multiple rounds conducted on the same day. Initially, around 200 candidates were shortlisted based on 10th, 12th, and CGPA scores.
Round 1: Technical Round (Online Assessment)
This round included 15 MCQs from Algorithms, Operating Systems, and DBMS, as well as three coding questions. The coding questions were: "Valid Parentheses" (LeetCode), "Coin Change II" (LeetCode), and another DP + Binary Search problem that the candidate couldn't recall exactly.
Round 2: Technical Interview 1
In this interview, the candidate was asked to discuss the optimal approach for Problem number 1 from the technical round (Valid Parentheses). Other questions included finding the floor value of a number's square root and "Longest Increasing Subsequence" (LeetCode) with both recursive and tabulation approaches. Since the candidate's resume was JavaScript-based, they were also asked two JavaScript-specific questions: "What is an event loop?" and "What is callback hell?".
The candidate was rejected after this first technical interview, despite feeling their interview went smoothly.
Round 3 & 4: Technical Interview 2 & HR Round
These rounds were not experienced by the candidate as they were rejected earlier in the process.
