This interview experience for an SDE role at Ola Electric was part of an on-campus drive and consisted of three rounds.
Round 1 (Online Assessment - 90 minutes): This round had three coding questions, ranging from easy to medium difficulty. The topics covered included arrays, strings, and dynamic programming. One easy question was from strings, a medium one from arrays, and a Knapsack problem with a small twist where items could be picked more than once.
Round 2 (Technical Round - 40-50 minutes): After brief introductions, the interviewer posed two coding questions, described as medium to hard. The first question was "Merge K Sorted Arrays". The second involved designing a special stack that supports `popMin()` and `popMax()` operations in O(1) time. A hint provided for the stack problem suggested using two additional stacks to track minimum and maximum elements.
Round 3 (HR Round - 20 minutes): This round focused on behavioral and company-specific questions. The candidate was asked to "Tell me about yourself," "What do you know about OLA," and to discuss any issues faced with OLA Cabs and how they would fix them as a developer. Other questions included details about projects worked on, challenges faced during remote internships, and suitability for the office location. The candidate was selected and received the offer letter the next day. A tip given was to read about the company before the interview.
