The interview process for a Software Engineer position at OpenText for a candidate with 2 years of experience consisted of an Online Assessment followed by four interview rounds.
Online Assessment (OA):
The OA was conducted on Codility and comprised two easy-level questions based on number theory.
Interview R1: Technical
This round involved several coding and conceptual questions. Coding problems included printing all pairs with a given sum (using a hashing-based solution), deleting the Kth node from the end of a linked list, and finding the longest substring with all unique characters (using a sliding window approach). There was also a discussion on stack implementation using arrays and linked lists, focusing on memory optimizations with linked lists. C++ concepts were also covered, such as Static and Dynamic polymorphism, Access specifiers, how static polymorphism works (name mangling), and the difference between `delete` and `free`.
Manager Round:
This round involved a general discussion about the candidate's past experience, the technologies they had worked with, their areas of interest, and their reasons for wanting to switch jobs.
Director Round:
The final round with the Director involved discussions about the candidate's projects, their interests, the reason for seeking a new role, and their knowledge about the Bangalore location. The candidate received a call confirming their selection on the same day.
