Experience:

Vishwajeet Anand shared his successful interview experience for the Software Engineer role at NatWest Group, which visits his university campus annually. The selection process comprised three rounds.

Round 1: Qualifying Preliminary Criteria
Eligibility criteria included a minimum of 70% in Xth and XIIth, and a minimum of 6 CGPA in the current degree with no standing arrears. Eligible branches were BE/BTech- CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, and CSE with Specialization. After meeting these criteria, students were shortlisted based on CGPA and resume, with around 155 students proceeding to the next round.

Tips for this round included maintaining a CGPA above 8.5 and having a strong resume.

Round 2: Online Test
This round was conducted on the AMCAT Platform and had 4 sections: English, Technical (OOPs, DSA, DBMS, and C concepts), SQL, and Coding. The coding questions were easy to moderate.

Coding Questions mentioned:

• "Find the number of perfect squares in an array" (similar to a known problem with minor modifications).
• "Find the intersection area of two circles".

Tips included brushing up on core subjects like DBMS, OS, OOP, DSA, and CN for MCQs, and aiming to solve questions quickly.

Round 3: Competency-based Interview
The interviewers were friendly. The interview started with "Tell me about yourself," covering educational background, internships, technical strengths, hobbies, merits, and demerits.

Discussion then moved to internships, focusing on problem statements, overall outcomes, challenges, and tech stacks (10-15 minutes). Projects were also discussed in detail, including problem statements, existing solutions, uniqueness, future work, and tech stack choices.

Technical questions covered DSA, DBMS, and OOPs:

• Knowledge of linked lists and their complexities.
• Basic data structure used to create a Tree (answer: Graphs).
• Why CNN is suitable for image classification.
• Query to find the 3rd highest salary of an employee.
• Basic OOP questions like polymorphism, inheritance.

Career-related and behavioral questions included:

• "What are your future plans?"
• "What values can you provide to NatWest?"

General tips for the interview were to brush up on core subjects, have at least one significant project to discuss, be honest with the resume, and ask relevant questions to interviewers.
