This candidate shared their interview experience for a Technology Intern position at Nasdaq in 2023.
Round 1: HackerEarth Challenge This online challenge consisted of 2 programming questions and 10 analytical MCQ questions, with a time limit of 2 hours. Both programming questions were of medium difficulty, involving graphs and backtracking logic. The MCQ questions were relatively easy if one had prepared for aptitude and logical reasoning. There was a specific time limit for MCQs, and remaining time could not be used for programming questions. The candidate cleared 7 out of 9 test cases for the first programming question and was selected for the next round.
Round 2: Zoom Meeting This round was a discussion with a recruiter or manager, held about 15 days after the HackerEarth challenge. The interviewer introduced the roles and work culture for interns at Nasdaq, and verbally confirmed the candidate's ability to manage internship and college work simultaneously. There was an extensive discussion about the type of work, software, and intern requirements. The candidate then discussed their experiences, projects, mentorships, volunteer work, and skills, with the interviewer asking about every single item on the CV. They also discussed front-end or back-end preferences, programming languages, and databases used in projects.
Outcome: The candidate did not clear the process, as their skill set and project experience did not align with the company's specific requirements.
Tips: Have a good understanding of everything on your CV. Look up your interviewer on LinkedIn beforehand. Focus on the requirements mentioned in the Job Description and explain your tech stack thoroughly.
