MediaTek visited the campus for a recruitment drive.
Round-1 (Online Assessment): This round lasted 90 minutes. It consisted of 30 MCQs based on Operating Systems, C language fundamentals, Computer Organization and Architecture, and tree traversals. There were also coding questions, allowing C and C++ languages. The coding questions included: Cloning a linked list, Reversing a linked list in groups of K, and Diameter of the tree.
Round-2 (Technical Interview Round-1): This round lasted 60 minutes. The interviewer asked questions about OS scheduling algorithms and their comparisons. The Producer-Consumer Problem was given, and the candidate was asked to write pseudo-code to solve it. Other questions included reversing words in a string, understanding Little Endian and Big Endian formats and their use cases, and bitwise operators, such as finding a missing number in an array.
Round-3 (Technical Interview Round-2): This round also lasted 60 minutes. Questions were asked about a Machine Learning project mentioned in the resume, specifically about overfitting, underfitting, and various metrics for model validity. A system design question involved designing a Bluetooth-enabled bulb, with special scenarios like multiple users connecting. The candidate was also asked to implement the power function in C and then optimize it using bitwise operations. Further questions covered various types of operating systems and their use cases, and finding the XOR of two numbers without using the XOR operator.
Round-4 (H.R Round): This final round lasted 30 minutes. Questions included "Why MediaTek?", feedback about previous technical rounds, strengths and weaknesses, how to handle situations where weaknesses dominate, and expectations regarding the workplace and work culture.
