Experience:

Morgan Stanley Capital International (MSCI) visited VIT Pune campus in October 2023 to hire for the Data Science intern role. Branches allowed were CS, ECE, and IT. Out of 1400+ students, only two were shortlisted and selected for the internship. The number of rounds could vary by team/manager.

Round 1 (Online Test on HackerRank – 120 mins): This round had 16 questions. The format included 3 medium to hard-level LeetCode DSA questions, Python pandas, JSON questions, and some logical aptitude questions. The questions were of medium difficulty with partial test cases marks for coding. There were also 2 math-based questions and 3 hard questions (specifics not remembered, but logic similar to provided C++ code snippets for `getMaximumScore`).

Round 2 (Online Interview): The interviewer asked the candidate to write down the code for questions asked in the Online Assessment. Questions were based on projects mentioned in the resume (mostly data science-based). Python OOPs questions, project-based questions, one GeeksforGeeks puzzle, ML algorithms, and Git commands were also covered. The candidate was asked to write code.

Round 3 (Interview): This round involved writing code in pandas and answering some easy DSA questions. Additionally, some HR-based questions were asked. Results came after a few weeks.
