MSCI visited MIT, Manipal for a 6-month internship offer for 4th-year students. A total of around 40 students were selected for interviews. The interviews were offline.
Online Test: Not many details provided, but it was the first round.
Technical Round 1 (50-55 mins): The interviewer started with the resume and projects. The candidate was asked to show and run a project, explain the code, libraries, and frameworks used, and justify choices. This section lasted about 20 minutes. Three DSA questions were asked: "reverse a sentence," "sort 0,1,2 in the most optimized manner," and "implement a queue using a linked list." A DBMS question involved writing and modifying an SQL query (joins). OOPS questions included Polymorphism and inheritance-based scenarios (predicting outputs of parent-child class functions), along with memory management questions.
Technical Round 2 (25 mins): This round was with a senior engineer. Questions started with OOPS, covering inheritance, constructors, destructors, friend functions, deep and shallow copy, virtual functions, virtual table, and virtual destructors. The candidate had to write functions to explain concepts. Basic questions on NumPy and Pandas were also asked, as mentioned in the resume.
HR Round (10 mins): This round was brief. Questions included: "whether I was tired," "why I wanted to go in this field," "where I see myself in 5 years," "plans for future studies," and family background and interests/strengths.
