This experience details an on-campus recruitment process for both Software Engineer and Data Scientist roles. There were four rounds in total.
Online Test: Conducted on the HirePro Platform, this round had 33 questions and a time limit of 90 minutes. It included quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and technical aptitude questions. There were also two coding questions. One coding question involved merging two non-increasing arrays into a single array. Another asked to find the most frequent substring of a string of given length. A subjective question required writing an algorithm to find the location of clusters in a given image. The aptitude questions were considered difficult, while the coding questions were easy. 40 candidates were shortlisted for the next round.
Technical Interview 1 (Software Engineer Role): The interviewer started with a puzzle related to "Chaos in the bus" (a specific puzzle from GeeksforGeeks). Following this, a programming question on "Next Greater Element" was asked. The candidate was then asked to implement a queue using two stacks, explaining the approach where push operation is made costly. Finally, OOPS concepts in Java were discussed, with the candidate providing clear explanations and examples.
Technical Interview 2: This round primarily focused on the candidate's projects. The interviewer was friendly and asked for an instance where the candidate used their skills to solve a problem, which impressed the interviewer. After reviewing the online test statistics, the interviewer decided not to ask any further technical questions. The round concluded with the candidate asking a few questions to the interviewer.
HR Interview: This round covered personal background, including family and college journey. The candidate was asked about previous interview experiences and reasons for non-selection in other companies. Questions about preferred technologies (Android, Cloud Computing, Java) and plans for higher studies were also asked. The candidate was eventually selected for the Software Engineer role, with 4 individuals selected for Software Engineer and 2 for Data Scientist.
