MoneyView visited the campus around October for a pool hiring drive across several colleges. The job profile was SDE with a CTC of 16 LPA (14 LPA fixed) and 7 LPA in stocks (though stock provision was uncertain). Eligibility criteria were stringent: B.Tech (CSE, ECE, EEE) with a CGPA of 8 and above, and 80% and above in 10th & 12th grades.
Round 1: Online Assessment
Conducted on the HirePro platform, this assessment had four timed sections: Logical Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, General Aptitude, and Coding. Time was not transferable between sections (1 minute per MCQ). There were two coding questions and one subjective question (pseudo-code based) with 40 minutes for coding and 15 minutes for subjective. The coding questions were easy-medium, but the aptitude section was challenging. The proctoring method was strict, causing alerts for slight head movements. After the OA, MoneyView took about two weeks to release a shortlist of around 50 candidates.
Interview Rounds (3 rounds: 2 Technical, 1 HR)
The overall interview experience was described as "horrible" and "unhealthy," with allegations of pre-decided hiring and unorganized scheduling.
Technical Round 1
The interviewer asked two Dynamic Programming (DP) based questions, requesting the most optimal approach. While the candidate was coding, the interviewer misunderstood a part of the code and questioned its functionality. The candidate explained their thought process, and the code ran perfectly. This seemed to be taken negatively by the interviewer. Afterward, the interviewer asked about the candidate's field of interest and then diminished their morale by commenting that their interests could be more varied.
Technical Round 2
This interview was rescheduled late in the day. The interviewer allegedly threw "weird questions," made fun of achievements, and asked a "good level design question," which was uncommon for a new grad SDE interview at MoneyView. When the candidate started solving, the interviewer interrupted, citing time constraints, and fired 5-6 questions in 8-10 minutes each, creating a stressful situation. The interviewer then stated dissatisfaction with the candidate for a frontend role and wanted to check backend skills.
Technical Round 3 (Horrible one!)
A "disinterested" interviewer joined, asking tough backend-based questions and requesting code for the object structuring of the candidate's full-stack project. The interviewer behaved similarly to the previous one, asking back-to-back questions without enough time for implementation and showing "disgust." This round was not typical as HR had mentioned only two technical rounds. The candidate felt the company aimed to put their confidence down.
