This KLA Tencor on-campus interview process was specifically for Dual Degree (BTech + MTech) Computer Science students.

Round 1 (Coding Round): This round was an online test on HackerRank, lasting 75 minutes. It consisted of two coding questions.

• The first question was described as easy, similar to a "number of islands problem" or "Find the size of the biggest cluster in the image where the image matrix is boolean (0 or 1)."
• The second question was "Count inversions of size three in a given array," for which the candidate wrote a brute-force solution that passed 10/12 test cases.
• Another source for a Software Engineer (On-Campus) role mentioned "Max Area of Island" and "Increasing Triplet Subsequence" (LeetCode problems) in a 90-minute online test.

Approximately 15 students were shortlisted for the next round, including some who did not pass all test cases but had the correct approach.

Round 2 (Workshop): This was an intensive, full-day workshop, from 8 AM to 8 PM. Candidates were given an industry-level problem statement related to image processing. The task involved finding unusual things present in large image files and returning their positions in a CSV file.

Mentors were assigned to check progress hourly. The challenging aspects were understanding the problem statement and developing an approach. The candidate unfortunately couldn't solve the problem within the given timeframe, leading to not being selected. The solution required a good amount of image processing knowledge.
