Experience:

JPMorgan Chase & Co. visited the campus for Software Engineer Summer Internship in March (during the 4th semester). The hiring process involved a 24-hour hackathon, Code for Good, where students collaborated with JPMC employees to build prototypes for social good.

Round 1: Online Coding Test
This round was conducted on HackerRank. It consisted of easy/medium DSA questions. The candidate emphasized that speed and accuracy were crucial due to high competition. Approximately 800 students took this test, and around 400 qualified for the next round.

Round 2: HireVue Video Interview
All students who qualified the Online Coding Test received a link for this automated video interview. It involved 2 HR-type questions, with 30 seconds to prepare and 2 minutes to answer each. The questions were mostly project-based, situation-based, or career-based. The main purpose was to assess communication skills. The candidate could re-record an answer once if not satisfied. Specific questions encountered by another candidate in a similar HireVue round for internship included: "Tell us about a time when you changed your communication approach to better convey a message to a customer or teammate. Describe the situation, the steps you took, and the outcome." and "Tell us what has been your best work successful presentation/project recently. Why do you consider this achievement important?". 15 students were shortlisted from this round for the hackathon.

Round 3: Virtual Two-Day Hackathon (Code for Good)
This was a 24-hour hackathon where candidates worked in teams with JPMC mentors. The evaluation focused on teamwork, contributions, attitude, and the "airport test" (being pleasant to work with). Even if a team didn't win, individual performance (technical and presentation skills) could lead to an offer. Mentors continuously monitored individual contributions.

Tips to ace the HireVue round: Wear formal attire, ensure a quiet place with proper lighting, be honest, use personal experiences, speak with confidence, and be clear and concise. Answers should highlight leadership, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

Tips for Coding Test: Practice easy/medium DSA questions from platforms like GeeksforGeeks, HackerRank, LeetCode, focusing on Arrays, Strings, Searching, Sorting, Bit Manipulation, LinkedList, Stacks, Queues, and HashMap. Python can be advantageous for faster coding.
