This interview process was described as very fast-paced. It began with a 30-minute discussion with an associate, focusing on the candidate's resume and prior experiences. This was followed by another 30-minute chat with a principal, who delved into the candidate's investor framework and knowledge of KKR's portfolio companies. A significant and challenging component was a 3-hour LBO (Leveraged Buyout) case study. The process also included a 30-minute discussion with an Managing Director (MD), which covered behavioral questions and "pretty deep personal philosophy debates." The candidate ultimately withdrew from the process before a scheduled case debrief, having received and accepted a competing offer. The interviewers were noted for being incredibly intelligent and pleasant, yet very serious about their work.
