This interview experience for an Intern + Software Developer role at Kickdrum in Bengaluru was an on-campus opportunity for the 2024 batch.
Round 1: Online Assessment (OA): This round consisted of 15 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and two Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) questions of medium/hard difficulty. Candidates could choose C++ or Java. MCQs covered computer science concepts like database management systems, object-oriented programming, and language fundamentals.
Round 2: Video Screening: Candidates had to complete a registration form and answer three culture questions in a 3-4 minute video. This was described as a unique experience to showcase personality and communication skills.
Round 3: Technical Interview (Online): This round was intense but engaging. It involved solving two DSA problems with multiple follow-up questions on edge cases. Additionally, a system design discussion centered around designing an application like a music player system using object-oriented concepts was included. Vocalizing the thought process and explaining the approach was crucial.
Round 4: Culture Fit Round (Online): This round was more relaxed, focusing on strengths, weaknesses, values, goals, personal interests, and a few open-ended scenarios and "what-if" questions. The interviewer aimed to gauge the candidate's views and thought process, emphasizing confidence during the conversation.
The overall process was challenging but fulfilling, testing problem-solving, quick thinking, and effective communication.
